As part of this year’s mobility programme, FamilyLine Incorporated welcomed ten interns from Germany (Berufsbildende Schule Melle (BBS Melle) and
Berufsschulzentrum am Westerberg, Osnabrück) to Ghana on February 16, 2025, for a three-week internship. The interns are divided into two groups;one specializing in carpentry and the other in hairdressing. The project is sponsored under the Erasmus project.
Among them are two teachers who will serve as supervisors throughout the program. The student carpenters will be assigned to specific workshops, where they will gain hands-on experience in crafting special Ghanaian-made coffins. Meanwhile, the student hairdressers will be placed in selected salons to learn traditional Ghanaian braiding techniques and other hairstyling skills.
This exchange programme offers a unique opportunity for cultural and professional learning, fostering collaboration and cross-cultural learning among Ghanaian craftmen and the visiting interns from Germany.
